What keeps us from flying isn't the lack of wings. It's holding on to things that weigh us down. I can help with both.
Eddie González-Novoa
The leaders I work with aren't struggling because they lack vision or commitment. They're struggling because change is happening simultaneously at three levels, inside themselves, inside their organizations, and in the world around them. When those levels fall out of sync, even the best strategy stalls. The work is learning to lead at all three at once.
Your Personal Leadership: Carrying the Weight of the Mission Alone.
01 Leadership is tested at moments of transition- the beginnings, endings of things, and the in-between of things. The best leaders anticipate change, navigate the grief and uncertainty it brings, and minimize its disruption. More importantly, they recognize those moments as opportunities to innovate and shed habits that no longer serve them or their organizations.
Your Organizational Culture and Systems: Aligning your "why" with your "how."
02 Culture isn't just a feeling; it lives in the things we can perceive, create, learn, and pass on. It shows up in language, symbols, artifacts, decisions, and behaviors that are rewarded when they align with our values and mission, and redirected when they don't. Culture is grounded in immutable core values, but adapts to changing times and context.
Your Partnerships and Landscape: Leading in a world that won't hold still.
03 The external environment of funders, policy, community needs, political context is shifting faster than most organizations can track. Leaders are expected to respond to all of it while keeping the internal work moving. The organizations that navigate this well aren't the ones with the best crisis response. They're the ones who built the relationships and adaptive capacity before the crisis arrived.
I offer focused, high-impact engagements: senior expertise, no overhead, ready to move when you are.

I bring a mix of an artist's imagination, the curiosity of a teacher, pastoral care, and the accountability of your favorite mentor. After 25 years at the intersection of health equity, racial justice, education, ministry, and the arts, working with BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and low-income communities, I've learned that the work is most powerful when I bring all of who I am into it.
That's what I offer. All of it, in service of you.
I give people the tools they need to fly so they can fully show up for themselves and for others.
I've led and co-founded and scaled organizations at the intersection of health equity, education, and community power, including Jumpstart New York, The Hetrick-Martin Institute, Public Allies New York, Energizing Health, The Survivor Games and Liberation Health Strategies. I hold graduate degrees from Harvard Divinity School and the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and an undergraduate degree from Princeton. I'm an Echoing Green Fellow and MM&M Top 40 Health Transformer.
